Water Treatment Products
Balanced WaterFor water to be in balance, the pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness and stabiliser should all be within certain limits - if not, the efficiency of the disinfectant is inhibited. With our extensive range of corrective products the water balance can be easily maintained.
To achieve the perfect balance of pool water, we recommend pool water is kept within the following parameters, however these values may differ in certain countries. |
|
pH REGULATING PRODUCTSRegulating pH, or how acidic or alkaline the water, is an important aspect of pool care.
Low pH can lead to skin or eye irritation and corrosion of equipment. High pH can result in cloudy water and contribute to scale formation within pipes and plant. Scale deposits in pipes reduces the flow of water and valve performance. The amount of free available chlorine released from your sanitizer decreases quite rapidly with increasing pH. WATER HARDNESSThe total hardness or TH of water depends on the concentration of calcium ions (Ca2 +) and magnesium (Mg2 +) If there is insufficient dissolved calcium, the water will try and take it from the grouting and concrete in the pool. High levels are not a major cause for concern provided the pH and alkalinity are within recommended parameters, but the reading should be kept below 1,000mg/l (ppm) if possible.

STABILISERProtects chlorine by minimising wasteful loss of sanitiser to UV radiation (sunlight). For use with un-stabilised sanitising products, usually recommended for outdoor pools.
NOTE: Do not use Stabiliser in your pool if it is sanitised using stabilised chlorine products, otherwise there is a high risk of the water becoming overstabilised NEUTRALISERTo neutralise excessive amounts of chlorine present in pool water.
